Our History
Our
church was first orginized by the Reverend G.M.
Allison and J. Carver Thompson in 1939. It was
called the High Point People's Christian
Movement. It was the result of tent revivals held
in the area.
They first began meeting under the shade of two oak trees on the a piece of property that was purchased. Eventually they began building. Once the structure was up they held their first Worship service on a dirt floor.
In 1967 the property was placed up for sale and the new site was purchased at the corner of Burton and Joe Moore Road in Thomasville North Carolina across from the Hasty Fire Department.
From this humble start the Community Evangelical Methodist Church has pursued to be in the Will of God.
If you are looking for a church home or a place to explore what the Christian faith is about, then come and join us. We will offer you our hand in fellowship and share the word and love of God with you.
